Personal Pronoun in Bahasa Indonesia


In English, there are 7 pronoun; they are personal pronoun, interrogative pronoun, relative pronoun, demonstrative pronoun, reflexive pronoin, reciprocal pronoun, and indefinite pronoun. In this article, we will learn about personal pronoun in bahasa Indonesia.

Personal Pronoun

In bahasa Indonesia, pronoun is called "kata ganti".
  • The first person in bahasa Indonesia is called "orang pertama". It refers to the speaker or who speaks - "Saya" (I) is for singular and "Kami" (we) for plural;
  • The second person in bahasa Indonesia is known as "orang kedua". It refers to the listener or with whom we talk - "Anda/Kamu" (you) for singular and plural;
  • The third person in bahasa Indonesia is called "orang ketiga". It refers to people or things which are talked about - "Dia" (He/She) for singular and "Mereka" for plural.
