Yang dimaksud dengan paired conjunctions dalam pembahasan kali ini adalah konjungsi yang memiliki pasangan tertentu, seperti 'both' dengan 'and'; 'either' dengan 'or'; 'neither' dengan 'nor'; dan 'not only' dengan 'but also'. - both - and berarti keduanya;;
- either - or berarti salah satu dari dua;
- neither - nor berarti tidak kedua-duanya; dan
- not only - but also berarti "tidak hanya" "tapi juga"

Analisis Contoh Parallel Structure with Paired Conjunctions
Pada keseluruhan contoh parallel structure with paired conjunctions diatas, dapat dilihat adanya pola yang sama diantara dan setelah paired conjunctions. Pada contoh pertama, 'what you did' mempunyai struktur yang sama dengan 'where you went' dengan paired conjunction 'both' dan 'and'. Contoh kedua menggunakan paired conjunction 'either' dan 'or' dimana 'his son' dan 'his father' ditulis berdasarkan struktur yang sama. Contoh ketiga menggunakan paired conjunction 'neither' dan 'nor' dan diantarai serta diakhiri dengan struktur yang sama pula, yaitu 'in my wallet' dan 'in my pocket', dan pada contoh terakhir 'an excellent learner' juga disandingkan dengan struktur yang sama diantara dan setelah paired conjunction 'not only' dan 'but also'.

Contoh Kalimat yang TIDAK PARALEL
She wants either to go by bus or by motorcyclePerhatikan pola kalimat diatas. Kalimat diatas tidak paralel sehingga harus dikoreksi. 'to go by bus' tidak paralel dengan 'by motorcycle'. Ada beberapa bentuk paralel yang benar sesuai dengan pola yang benar untuk kalimat diatas, antara lain sebagai berikut:
She wants either to go by bus or to go by motorcycle
She wants to go either by bus or by motorcycle
She wants to go by either bus or motorcycle
